Located in historical downtown Reno, the Plumas House, built in 1911, offers the inquisitive traveler a tranquil yet stimulating look into Nevada's past. First owned by prominent Nevada politician Samuel Platt, the Plumas House served as his home while he helped sculpt the laws of early Nevada in nearby Carson City.
In recent years proprietors, Tony and Nancy Palladino, have embraced each room with fifteen years of experience in the antique and decorating industry to create four masterful suites. Relish yourself in one of these rooms and enjoy the peaceful surroundings in the park-like setting that has graced the grounds since the house was built.
The magic begins with an array of fresh breads, fruits and juices in a continental-style breakfast. We share with you the flavors from our heart, blended with our passion for cooking and Italian ancestry. The meal will be served in our Sun Room welcoming the rising sun. Enjoy a latte by the morning fire in the living room or read the daily paper in the windowed front porch.
Experience Reno's historic downtown. On a summer day, take a short stroll through our old neighborhood to the Truckee River with its surrounding parks, specialty shops and art galleries. On a winter day ice skate downtown in the open sky by the river and have a hot chocolate at a nearby cafe. That night see a headliner show at a casino in "The biggest little city in the world". Complete your day back at The Plumas House with a warm drink and a cozy bed in your private suite.
